We are seeking a Full-Time Administrative Research Coordinator to join the Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research as part of the UTHealth School of Public Health in Houston, TX. In this position, you will provide administrative support to the department, oversee and assign space for the center, and work on other administrative project-related items.

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Center Administrator, the Research Coordinator I will assist with the administrative tasks required to run the assigned project smoothly. 

 Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Assists with the day-to-day project management coordination for research projects to include personnel, facilities, and supplies supporting research project desired outcomes, budgets, and timeliness.
  • Schedules and maintains calendars and travel itineraries; coordinates related arrangements in compliance with all University, governmental, and/or grant policies and guidelines.
  • Compiles data from reports using required knowledge of departmental, project, and/or university policies and procedures.
  • May assist with the preparation of the annual progress reports and applications for various committees and ensure that all staff has received the proper training/attended the appropriate training courses.
  • Maintains confidential records of collected data and ensures accuracy and integrity of data. Data may include patient data and departmental programmatic data.
  • Prepares draft reports and communications for the departmental program/division leadership.
  • Interacts with representatives from state, federal, and private agencies regarding proposals and funded projects.
  • Retrieves information from departmental and/or project records and may produce reports. Provides work administrative direction and guidance to administrative staff personnel within the department.
  • Provide backup for other support staff as needed.
  • May serve as administrative liaison with others within and outside assigned areas regarding administrative issues on purchasing, personnel, facilities, and operations.
  • Will maintain or reconcile procured expense records/reports.
  • Advises on policy and processes as assigned by supervisor. Is responsible for making routine decisions and judgment calls.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
    Working knowledge of MS Office.

Preferred:

  • Sound project management background and knowledge

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or relevant experience in lieu of education.

Experience:

  • None is required, but previous COUPA, CONCUR experience is preferred

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.

This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
