McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), Staff Physician/Community Cardiologist position in the Children's Heart Institute, Division of Pediatric Cardiology.

 

The Pediatric Cardiology Team is internationally recognized for providing patients with the best standard of pediatric cardiac care for children and adults with congenital heart defects. We have 22 cardiologists, including non-invasive imaging (fetal and cardiac MR/CT), interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, HF/transplant, preventive cardiology, and community cardiologists. There are 4 congenital heart surgeons with a 20-bed dedicated cardiac ICU, 20 intermediate care beds, and a 120-bed NICU. Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital is ranked in the top 30 pediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery programs in the 2022-2023 US News & World Report.

 

The selected candidates will serve our community in the Southeast Houston Region and model the best practices in clinical care and public health through research, teaching, clinical service, administrative activities, and other services.

 

 

Position Key Accountabilities:

 

The Staff Physician/Community Cardiologist position in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology will contribute to all aspects of the UTHealth Houston Children's Heart Institute. The selected candidate will provide direct patient care and support the educational mission through teaching and supervising our medical students, residents, and fellows in the clinic.

Qualifications:

 

  • Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License.
  • Board-certified and/or eligible candidates in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology.
  • Five years of experience in performing and interpreting echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiograms.
