McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston  is seeking an educator for our Gross Anatomy program in the Office of Educational Programs. This is a full-time Administrative and Professional (A&P) staff position. The successful candidate will join a team of anatomy educators whose primary responsibilities involve teaching human anatomy as a part of the Foundations of Medical Science course to the first-year medical students and as a part of the Pre-Entry program to the incoming medical students, as well as guiding dissection projects in the elective anatomy courses of fourth-year medical students. Anatomy education at McGovern Medical School is accomplished using a combination of cadaver dissections, projections, and 3D models.  

 

 

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic candidate with strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, who has demonstrated success as an educator in a collaborative, team-based work environment.

 

 

Position Key Accountabilities:

 

 

Responsibilities will include teaching Gross Anatomy through cadaver dissection-based laboratory sessions, as well as small group, large group, and online sessions using other educational strategies. The successful candidate will also contribute to curriculum development and the creation of educational materials.

Qualifications:

 

 

·         Master’s degree in anatomy or a related field of study.

·         Minimum of 3 years of experience in dissection-based teaching in the full regional spectrum of medical gross anatomy. 

·         Experience in teaching related disciplines in anatomical sciences (e.g., histology, embryology) is desirable, but not required.
