McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics (MSBMI) at UTHealth Houston is recruiting for a full-time Research Assistant Professor specializing in software development, front-end capabilities, and system integration within the context of translational AI research.

 

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in converting advanced AI theories into applicable real-world solutions, ensuring they are user-centric and accessible.

 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  

·      Develop and refine software prototypes based on emerging AI theories, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user interface.

·      Design, implement, and test front-end components to ensure optimal user experience and engagement.

·      Seamlessly integrate AI-driven models into existing systems, focusing on both backend functionality and frontend accessibility.

·      Adopt responsive web design principles, ensuring AI tools are accessible across multiple devices and platforms.

·      Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure the developed tools are user-friendly, adhering to the latest design trends and standards.

·      Continuously monitor and enhance system performance through feedback, real-world testing, and user experience metrics.

·      Engage with cross-functional teams to understand domain-specific needs and adapt AI tools accordingly.

·      Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI, front-end technologies, and design principles.

·      Contribute to research discussions, sharing insights on practical challenges and recommending software-driven solutions.

·      Document and present findings, contributing to both academic and industry-focused publications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

 

·      Ph.D. or equivalent in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.

·      Strong background in software development with a focus on AI-driven solutions.

·      Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with frameworks like React or Vue.js.

·      Demonstrable experience in system integration, optimization, and front-end development.

·      Familiarity with the translational aspects of research, ensuring theoretical advancements have practical applications.

·      Excellent collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal.

 

 

 

PREFERRED SKILLS:

 

·      Experience in applying AI tools in sectors such as healthcare, finance, or other related industries.

·      Proven UX/UI design understanding or collaboration experience.

·      A track record of publishing research in reputable journals and conferences.

 

 

SALARY:

 

 

Competitive and dependent upon qualifications and experience.
