The Louis A. Faillace, MD, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston has extraordinary opportunities for mental health professionals seeking to develop an academic career in Psychiatry.
Telepsychologists:
We are currently recruiting for multiple faculty positions in our Telemedicine Program. Faculty members utilize televideo technology from the comfort of home or local offices to provide psychological services to select inpatient facilities throughout Texas. This is a remote position. Minimal travel for site visits will be required and all necessary equipment and technical support will be provided.
Selected candidates will provide clinical and forensic psychological services including trial competency evaluations (TCE) and violence risk assessments in conformance with hospital bylaws and operating procedures, SSLC policy, Texas Administrative Code requirements, and applicable state and federal law; provide consultation and recommendations to recovery teams and interdisciplinary treatment teams for individualized treatment planning and competency restoration planning in accordance with ethical standards regarding separation of treatment services and forensic evaluation services; and provide testimony in court for TCEs and other forensic psychological services as requested by judge.
Qualifications:
· Psy.D. or Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Psychology from an APA-accredited program
· Licensed or eligible for license by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
