McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time, Assistant Professor (non-tenure clinical track) faculty position in the Department of Neurosurgery. We are seeking a neurosurgeon specializing in neuroendovascular surgery.

The selected candidate will contribute to the department’s mission to focus on the highest quality care and achieving the best outcomes, the best service and achieving the highest patient and referring doctor satisfaction, innovation and testing of new ideas, the advancement of medicine and setting new standards of care, and teaching the next generation to be the best.

Position Key Accountabilities:

The Assistant Professor in Neurosurgery will join a a thriving Neurosciences Center with 4 neurosurgeons, 6 neurologists, a pain management specialist, and a neuropsychologist.

-Participating in the Mischer Neuroscience Associates practice at the Memorial 

 Hermann-Woodlands location (a Level 2 Trauma Center); including, developing

 a separate NeuroICU and plan to be a Comprehensive Stroke Center sometime

 in 2018. The surgeon will also lead the development of CV services at that

 campus
-Participating in a UT general Neurosurgery physician group call team for

 coverage.
-Providing feedback regarding office operations including hiring staff, office

 logistics and new physician recruitment.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

The selected candidate for the position must have a Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License. Candidates must be either Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery.

 

Applicants must possess an advanced fellowship in neuroendovascular surgery. CAST certification is preferred.
