The Department of Neurology at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston invites applications for a full-time academic medical neuro-epileptologist at the assistant professor level appointment to work in the area. 


Position Key Accountabilities:


The successful candidate will participate in inpatient/outpatient clinical care, research and educational programs in Epilepsy within the Department of Neurology.




  • MD or MD/PhD
  • Licensed to practice in the state of Texas
  • 2 years fellowship-trained in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology
  • Interest in an academic career with an outstanding record in of epilepsy surgery, brain mapping, multimodal polygraphy and stereo electroencephalography (SEEG) evaluations.
  • Research expertise in the area of sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP), brain mapping and epilepsy surgery
  • 5 years experience in the design and conduct of clinical studies for the understanding of cortical cardiorespiratory control using brain electrical stimulation and multimodal cardiovascular polygraphy and SUDEP will be preferred.
