MINIMUM EDUCATION:

 

  • DNP or PhD

  • Eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse and advanced practice recognition in Texas.

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

  • A minimum of one-year full-time nurse practice experience.

 

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

 

  • Previous experience in leadership/management, education (clinical or didactic teaching), or clinical simulation within nurse anesthesia.

  • Strong clinical background and teaching experience.

  • For tenure-track faculty, preference will be given to those who have completed a funded post-doctoral fellowship or to those who have a history of Federal funding as a primary investigator.

  • Experience with a course management system.

 

CERTIFICATION/SKILLS:

 

  • NBCRNA certification as a CRNA

  • Willingness and ability to teach in advanced pharmacology and physiology courses

  • Recent clinical anesthesia experience in an acute care setting

  • Assigned active clinical anesthesia practice as faculty

  • Ability to function in a cohesive educational team model

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students and faculty.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).
