The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), a leading academic health center - McGovern Medical School, invites applications for a full-time, Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, division of Critical Care Medicine. 

 

Position Key Accountabilities:

 

The selected candidate will contribute in the clinical duties, teaching critical care fellows, residents, and medical students, research and involvement with quality improvement projects.  For clinical care, the Division staffs a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital that is located in the Texas Medical Center, Houston. 


Pediatric critical care medicine physicians provide twenty-four hour, in-house coverage in a multi-disciplinary; twenty bed PICU with comprehensive services for a wide variety of critically ill medical and surgical patients. Medical and surgical subspecialties from all disciplines are immediately available in the PICU. Areas of subspecialty expertise include cardiovascular surgery congenital heart disease, hematology, neurosurgery, oncology, respiratory failure, sepsis, solid organ transplantation, and trauma. Furthermore, the PICU has available advanced treatment modalities such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation for neonatal and pediatric respiratory and cardiac failure.

 

Qualifications:

 

The selected candidate for the position must have a Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License.  Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and be able to obtain a Texas Medical License.
