Position Summary:
Provides skilled responsible supervision and/or performs the replacement, installation, alteration, adjustment, repair and planned maintenance necessary to maintain reliable and functionally efficient operation of healthcare, academic and complex research facilities.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Certification/Skills:
- Current State of Texas Master or Journeyman Electrician license.
- Master or Journeyman Plumbing license issued by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners.
- Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractors license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
- Completion of an approved Millwright or similar apprentice program or technical trade school for mechanics with a minimum of 1200 classroom hours and 8000 hours of formal on-the-job training and skill attainment in appropriate subjects, or National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certification as Millwright.
- Associates degree or certification in instrumentation technology issued by an accredited institution.
- City of Houston First Grade Stationary Engineer License.
Minimum Education:
High school degree or equivalent.
Minimum Experience:
Seven (7) years of related experience including five years of supervisory experience. Preferred experience with emphasis in large-scale building maintenance/remodeling.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive:
This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
