Position Summary:
The Supervisor, Charge Capture and Coding works to achieve team and departmental goals by leading the charge capture and coding team in activities for assigned departments/CPT codes. Oversees the daily movement of charges and edits and ensures all are being cleared timely. Oversees the RAI process for timely responses by staff.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Coding Supervisor to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the ACTAT coding team, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all coding regulations for cardiology. Your expertise will drive the optimization of revenue cycles, enhance operational efficiency, and support our commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare services.

- Location: Remote (2 -4 weeks onsite for training @ 1851 Crosspoint Ave, 77054) meetings, additional training, etc.).
- Must live in Texas (TX)This is a Remote position, and you must reside in Texas
- Must be able to attend any required onsite meetings

Position Key Accountabilities:
1. Oversees the charge capture process, both manual and electronic, to ensure all charges are entering the system as expected.
2. Identifies trends in edits that pertain to coding; researches and resolves issues through provider education, staff education or system maintenance.
3. Communicates effectively with staff on all charge capture and coding processes, and oversees the effectiveness of their work.
4. Responsible for managing staff schedules and ensuring compliance with attendance policies.
5. Monitors and documents production relating to charges received, cleared and extracted. Provides documentation to the manager as requested.
6. Verifies coding is compliant with all CMS rules and regulations. Ensures all HIPPA rules are followed.
7. Stays abreast of all new CPT, ICD-10 and HCPC coding rules.
8. Monitors commercial payer guidelines and communicates all information that will impact charge capture and coding to staff.
9. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of Internal Policies & Procedures for review by management for implementation.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
CPC Accreditation by AAPC
Microsoft Office experience; Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, Visio
Minimum Education:
Associate’s Degree in Business or equivalent or a combination of education and related experience.
Minimum Experience:
Five (5) years of experience in Coding and/or Management role. May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive:
This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
