Senior Communication Specialist - Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research
Certification/Skills:
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Proven feature writing, speech writing and news writing skills
- Knowledge of content management system skills preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Strong knowledge of AP Style
- Photography and video skills preferred
Preferred:
- Content management system skills preferred
- Knowledge in producing well-written, creative copy with a strong knowledge of AP style
- Demonstrates problem solving skills and works well in a team environment
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and social media outlets including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn
- Experience in public health or governmental communications preferred
- Experience with paid digital and search marketing preferred
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or allied field.
Minimum Experience:
- Five years of experience in public relations, communications, writing/editing or related field.
- Previous experience with graphic design strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.Security Sensitive:This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
