Senior Business Intelligence Analyst in Development for Salesforce
Position Summary:
UTHealth Houston’s Office of Development and Public Affairs is looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst who will primarily support the administration of the Salesforce constituent database, Affinaquest. This role will serve as the primary programmer and system admin that supports the development and maintenance of Affinaquest, the SQL reporting instance, and the SQL patient database. You will need to apply a user-centered approach to transform raw data into meaningful and valuable information, enabling more effective, strategic, tactical, and operational insight and decision-making to support the department’s fundraising and brand elevation goals.
This employee functions as both a programmer and system administrator and needs to be able to design custom application programming interfaces and pull data reports. You will be automating some processes using SQL and SOQL alternatively. We use Salesforce, and you should have experience with that or other cloud-based CRM’s that are relational. A background of working with a non-profit, medical organization, or an institute of higher learning will be an asset.

Position Key Accountabilities:
• Manage the ongoing configuration and enhancement of the Affinaquest/Salesforce Org and managed packages.
• Design and implement data integrity strategy, including custom fields, objects, triggers, and workflows. Manage user requests and needs and deliver custom solutions and smooth dataflow.
• Develop and maintain SQL processes to enable the extraction of valuable insights from our data.
• Manage the data flow from Salesforce to the internal reporting instance.
• Maintain, revise, and update current code or configuration, including troubleshooting, fixing bugs, and improving system functionality
• Streamline and optimize processes related to patient data.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and internal teams to identify requirements and design best practice solutions.
• Assist in system updates, upgrades, and migrations for existing and new applications and systems.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless integrations and data flow.
• Work with vendors and end users to troubleshoot applications, upgrades, and new solutions/implementations and manage user accounts, security settings, and access permissions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
- Salesforce Administration Certification is preferred.
- Experience defining metrics, dimensions and KPIs on Business Intelligence projects
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access
- Strong critical thinking, analytic, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to always work independently and effectively with prudent judgment and discretion.
- Experience with SQL database reporting tools
- Experience in working with large volumes of data is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of custom objects, process builders, workflows, apex triggers, validation rules, tags, etc.
- Proficiency in and ability to automate data and manual processes via Python, R, SOQL, SQL, Apex, or other data analysis languages
- Proficient in reporting via SSIS, SSRS, Power BI, and Tableau
- API and integration knowledge
Minimum Education:
At least a bachelor’s degree in science, business, or a related field is required.
Minimum Experience:
Five (5) years of system administration experience in a Customer Relationship Management system similar to Salesforce is required.
Experience in an academic, research, healthcare, non-profit, or fundraising environment is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas. This role will be on a hybrid working schedule in the office, alternating with optional remote days.
