We are looking for a Full-Time Program Manager to join the Office of Academic Affairs and Student Services to join the UTHealth School of Public Health in Houston, TX. The person in this role will work under the supervision of Assistant Dean of Students to support student wellness, school-wide student initiatives and ADA/504 Coordinator Activities. They will work with the Assistant Dean to develop, manage, and oversee activities related to student support, student and faculty concerns, ADA/504 accommodations and academic integrity.

Position Summary:

The person in this role works under the supervision of Assistant Dean of Students to support student wellness, school-wide student initiatives and ADA/504 Coordinator Activities.  Responsibilities for this role include collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Students, staff in the office of the Associate Dean for Academic and Research Affairs, and other faculty as needed on developing, managing and overseeing student support activities

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Oversees student support program activities, related to interfacing with students and faculty on concerns, while ensuring adherence to confidentiality, that have been identified with the Assistant Dean of Students.
  • Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors project progress. Develops, implements, and manages policies and procedures related to handling student and faculty concerns, overall student support activities and their documentation.
  • Effectively communicates with students and faculty in answering student and faculty questions about student accommodations, academic integrity, and other student support-related issues.
  • Oversees scheduling of student and faculty appointments with Assistant Dean of Students to discuss student support issues (and other appointments for Assistant Dean)
  • Works closely with Assistant Dean of Students and other Departments and Deans related to developing and leading educational trainings, programs and other collaborative student wellness activities for faculty and students.
  • Summarizes data and evaluation of student support program activities and prepares reports.
  •  May create and edit various communications materials for student support activities, which may include printed materials, web site content and/or department newsletters.
  • Communicates with students, faculty and other stakeholders to share objectives and outcomes. Prepares and may make oral presentations at professional meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

  • May require program-specific certifications.

Preferred:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work empathetically with students and faculty.
  • Strong written and organizational skills.
  • Generally, requires use of initiative and independent judgment.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in lieu of education.
  • Master's degree in related field is preferred. 

Minimum Experience:

  • Five (5) years of applicable experience.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Security Sensitive:

This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
