Our current projects focus on intravital two-photon microscopy imaging of the cerebrovasculature in the mouse brain. The successful candidate will be responsible for animal surgeries, behavioral testing, and proteins/histological analysis. Future research will explore the molecular mechanisms of cerebrovascular disease progression in neurodegeneration.

This position is funded through an NIH Research Grant and the lab is part of the UTHealth BRAINS Research Lab in the Department of Neurology, at UTHealth Houston. Our lab is equipped with cutting-edge technologies, including a custom-built two-photon laser-scanning microscope and an automatic western blot system. As a member of the UTHealth community, the candidate will have access to specialized core facilities, a collaborative research environment and access to the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world.
Ideal candidates should have a strong background in biochemistry and molecular biology. Additional expertise in pharmacology, biostatistics, and rodent behavioral testing is highly desirable. We are looking for self-motivated, independent individuals who are ready to contribute to innovative cerebrovascular research.

The position is available immediately.
