Certification/Skills:

  • Advanced working knowledge of standard Office Software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required. 
    • Will be asked to compose emails on behalf of Dr. Johnson as well as complete presentations and compile lists of information.
  • Use of University financial systems may be required.
    • Will need to be open to learning and retaining training received.

Minimum Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum Experience:

  • Six (6) years related work experience required. 
    • Previous experience as an EA, Administrator, or service-oriented position.
  • Extensive experience with scheduling, maintaining calendars, and travel itineraries required. 
    • Will include working with Dr. Johnson's complex schedule which usually contains multiple meetings a day with multiple participants, organizing Dr. Johnson's research times, as well as arranging travel for visiting faculty and other individuals across the Texas Medical Center.
  • Prior experience preparing meeting materials or general reports required. 
    • Includes presentations, handouts, and recording minutes
  • May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.

Additional Information:

  • Full-Time / Salaried / Non-Exempt position
  • Pay Range: $40,000 - $50,000/year when annualized - Based on years of experience and education
  • Located at School of Nursing and Student Community Center @ 6901 Bertner Avenue
  • Ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment. Must be detail-oriented, have superior time management and organization skills. 
  • Position will participate in special projects (Research Day and Seminar Series) where coordination of advertisement, flyers, speakers, communication and event planning will be critical.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
