Certification/Skills
Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO), Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) preferred.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with academic leaders, faculty, staff, students and vendors; and proven track record of strong leadership, management, and business acumen.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Business or related Field. Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
Minimum Experience
Eight (8) years of progressive management experience in the procurement profession, with a demonstrated ability to provide leadership and management with an environment that is large, complex and interdisciplinary; proven experience of leading and transforming procurement services to ensure the capture of the greatest value to the organization.
Preferred qualifications include: experience implementing a change management program that resulted in costs savings; demonstrate knowledge of superior customer service standards and practices and the ability to establish; understanding of Texas procurement law; background in process reengineering and/or continuous improvement; demonstrated ability to use technology in order to create efficiencies in business processes; and experience in supply chain management.
Physical Requirements
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
