Coordinator I Educational Programs
UTHealth Houston is looking for a Coordinator I for Educational Programs to work with our Center for Inter-Professional Collaboration. Your goal will be to advise and help create educational content that this area will use across our seven different schools. This material can be either synchronous or asynchronous for students to access. It will involve simulations and specific coursework. We require someone who has completed at least a Bachelor’s degree and is interested in curriculum development. You will support coordinating educational programs and scheduling events.
Experienced candidates who have worked with virtual learning or online teaching are preferred. A background in public health or the medical field is an asset but not a requirement. This coordinator will need to be flexible, as the program is always incorporating new technology and how to utilize these tools. You will constantly be working with new models of approaching curriculum and new coursework. This is a hybrid position, and you will need to come to the office as programs require. You will also be expected to help run activities and simulations at various sites when that is needed.

Position Summary:
Coordinates and administers educational programs.
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Provides assistance with coordinating a health education program to ensure the achievement of the program’s goals and objectives.
- Conducts surveys and gathers and analyzes health data to assist the faculty in the preparation of curriculum and audiovisual instructional materials.
- Assists course coordinators in a research and/or educational program setting in classroom teaching assignments, preparation of course syllabi, evaluating classroom presentations, ascertaining certain behavioral objectives, and ensuring the course outlines and lesson plans are current.
- Organizes and coordinates teaching laboratory materials and maintains a list of all existing equipment and teaching aids. Orders and maintains educational materials and equipment in order to ensure the availability of teaching aids for health education programs.
- Maintains the Health Education Library, including current audio-visual instructional resources, in order to service laboratory and classroom training.
- Provides support within a clinical setting in recommending and implementing policies and procedures to improve the practical clinical experience of the students. Directs within a research setting, a lecture format, and a laboratory.
- In either a clinical or research setting, Makes recommendations regarding developing and implementing new policies and procedures to improve medical care, planning, scheduling, and training of students and residents.
- Maintains and assists faculty with the necessary updates to course-related websites.
- Obtains proctors for examinations as well as proctors exams, assembles examinations, prepares slide carousels for faculty and students, posts grades to students, maintains grade rosters, and assists students and faculty with course questions.
- Trains and assists faculty, residents, and other personnel on the slide scanner and other teaching equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or relevant experience in lieu of education.
Minimum Experience:
One year of experience in an educational setting.
Experience in classroom teaching preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
