Certification/Skills:

Preferred:

  • Experience creating content for and managing social media channels such as Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and WhatsApp
  • Experience using social media management platforms such as Sprout Social and Later
  • Strong news writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Knowledge and experience in analytics
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively to develop solutions and come up with innovative ideas
  • Proactive and self-sufficient
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working both within a large, complex organization with multilayered systems and processes
  • Experience using design platforms such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field.

Minimum Experience:

  • Three years of experience in public relations, communications, writing/editing or related field.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Security Sensitive:

This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
