The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full time faculty position in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Medical Genetics at McGovern Medical School.

The selected candidate will be part of a vibrant cardiovascular genetics program affiliated with McGovern Medical School genetics clinic, the multidisciplinary aortic and vascular disease clinic, and the cardiovascular surgical program. A highly collaborative environment that encourages participation in ongoing projects with other institutions in the world renowned Texas Medical Center, including Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital. Applicants will have the opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary clinical setting and participate in cutting edge translational research.

Position Key Accountabilities:

The candidate will provide genetic counseling for patients in a clinical diagnostic setting (clinic and hospital), as well as screen, consent, recruit, and gather patient/family data for research and follow-up. In partnership with other genetic counselors on the team, the incumbent will have the opportunity to provide genetic counseling for individuals with or at risk for aortopathies, cerebrovascular disease, other vascular diseases and connective tissue disorders.


Candidates must be board-certified or have active candidate status through the American Board of Genetic Counseling or American Board of Medical Genetics. Experience is preferred but not required.
