The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), a leading academic health center, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment in the area of brain aging or neurodegenerative diseases in the Department of Neurobiology and Anatomy at McGovern Medical School.


We encourage applications from candidates who employ novel approaches to explore areas at the level of cellular and molecular mechanisms and/or neural circuits in vivo. 


We are located within the Texas Medical Center and its very rich and collaborative neuroscience community including Baylor College of Medicine, Rice University and the University of Houston.

Position Key Accountabilities:

Individuals will be expected to develop a strong, independent research program and contribute to our departmental teaching mission.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D.) and postdoctoral experience.

Interested applicants should submit electronically their curriculum vitae, a statement of their research and teaching interests, and the names of three references. Applications should be submitted by January 7, 2019. The search will remain open until a suitable candidate is identified.

Applications at both junior and senior levels will be considered, with rank dependent on experience and qualifications.
