Position Summary:
UTHealth Houston is looking for a Program Coordinator to work with our Academic Administration area. This is largely an administrative role within the department and works a hybrid schedule. This employee works closely with the Associate Vice President for Institutional Research, Assessment, & Accreditation and the Associate Director of Academic Administration to assist university and school leadership in coordinating academic program planning and accreditation. Responsibilities include ensuring proper implementation of processes for required review and approval through The University of Texas System (UT System), The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

Position Key Accountabilities:
- Coordinates annual audits of the THECB Program Inventory for degree listings, distance education, and institutional structure of UTHealth Houston Schools.
- Participates in reviewing and approving academic degree program proposals for UTHealth Houston schools.
- Provides support in the approval process of updating online official school academic catalogs and the university general information catalog.
- If applicable, manage the submission process and maintain internal records for graduate certificate programs to THECB and SACSCOC.
- Participates in the review and approval process for all internal and external consortial academic program agreements for UTHealth Houston schools.
- Provides administrative and logistical support to the University Academic Council.
- Assists in organizing and displaying supporting documentation for SACSCOC decennial and interim reports.
- Ensures departmental webpages are up to date per academic program information.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Organized and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with best practices in institutional accreditation.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution focusing on social sciences, higher education administration, public administration, or a related field required.
Minimum Experience:
Three (3) years of academic administration experience, preferably at a Texas public college, university, or health-related institution required.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive:
This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
